We’ve launched our Beta Protected Pools, part of our V2, and we’re currently in Phase 1 of the Syracusia Upgrade, but what does that mean for the user? What’s our goal? How does it work?

Archimedes was born with the purpose of simplifying DeFi for users, so that’s our end goal, we want to allow users to generate yield in an intuitive and secure way.

After the sunset of our V1, we shifted our focus, starting with automated position management on Bluechip assets such as ETH and USDC, so you can put them to work and earn more of those assets.

Our solution became a reality with our Protected Single Pools (PSPs)🛡️, which allows ETH and USDC  holders to generate yield by depositing and locking (i.e. “staking”) these tokens, but these PSPs🛡️ are always supervised by off-chain monitors, and if any of these pairs start to depeg, or there are any other health issues with the pool of funds (or simply “pool” or “liquidity pool”), Archimedes automatically withdraws its users’ funds quickly to avoid further losses.

Once you deposit your Bluechip, Archimedes swaps a portion of it with the necessary asset, e.g. a pegged asset to ETH or USDC such as ETH+, alUSD, and others, and stakes it into the pool (on @ConvexFinance , @AuraFinance , @CurveFinance , @Balancer , etc.) and there the health checks begin.

The Health checks are:
1️⃣ Deposits/TVL percentage  owned by Archimedes
2️⃣ Asset Ratios in the pool
3️⃣ Minimum deposit/TVL required to enter the pool

As an example, the monitor checks if Archimedes’ users own less than 33% of the total TVL of a stable pool, to make sure it won’t affect the pool in case of total withdrawal.

Because the Archimedes Protected Single Pools 🛡️ combines the assets of many users, compounding can be done more often as the rewards are much higher for the combined assets while the gas costs stay the same. 
But here’s the deal, we cover compounding gas fees for users, so they can just set and forget while enjoying their yield with more capital efficiency.

What next?

In the near future, we will be adding more strategies to the PSPs, and you can be part of it by joining our discord (https://t.co/PscNAdeJ2K) and letting us know what strategies would you like to see there.

The next thing we have in mind is enabling users (leverage takers or LTs) to borrow funds to deposit into PSPs, what we call leverage. This way, LTs will be able to earn more yield from their capital by taking on leverage. LTs will pay a fee for leverage, which will be used to reward Lenders (LPs) wanting to earn yield on their BTC, this way we can maintain a sustainable ecosystem inside Archimedes🏛️

▶️ For V1 we partnered with @HalbornSecurity for our Audit, and this partnership will continue on V2, with an extensive audit of our smart contracts to make sure the code is safe.

Omni-pools are also in our Roadmap. It is a one-stop shop where you deposit once, and we do the pool-hopping to find the best yield available for your money💰 Not last and not least, we will then go into L2s, such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Mantle, etc.
